KATHY NOEL SMITH It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kathy Noel Smith, a dear wife, mother, grandmother and beloved sister. She will be sadly missed by husband Fletcher, sons Brian, Noel (Natasha), Jim (Victoria), James, Patric (Janet), daughters Serena (Stan) and Roxanne, and grandchildren Johanna, Logan and Lenny. Kathy will also be loved forever by her sisters Jeannette (Murray), Dianne (Don), Leona (Tim), Laurie (Frank), Connie (Rob), Joan (Paul), and brother John (Linda), along with numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her Dad, Leo, her Mom, Phyllis, and brothers Jimmy, Rene and Roland. Kathy believed in life-long learning, always hungry for knowledge and the joy that it brings. She graduated from the U of M in 1985, majoring in Psychology. Over the years, she and Fletch cared for a great number of foster children, giving them a loving home and family. She also spent part of her career days in real estate, at Avis Rent-a-Car and working with her brother-in-law Tim at Eurodrive Canada. During every part of her life, Kathy brought joy to everyone she met with her caring ways, gentle style and disarming smile and charm. The sound of her sweet laugh will live in the memories of all who loved her. Kathy lived life on her own terms; spoke her mind with a gentle courage when it came to her beliefs about love, family commitment, and her deep spirituality about things seen and unseen. Though we are shocked at the suddenness of her passing, we believe that her incredible spirit will sustain us until we can finally meet again. Please join the family on Friday June 11, 2010 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. for a viewing and farewell and on Saturday June 12, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. for a service to celebrate Kathy's life at Thomson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please hug your children and say a prayer for Kath. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C OX4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com
