They moved to Winnipeg in 1965, where she has since resided. She will be remembered fondly by many people in the community as the Avon Lady and in later years as a long-time volunteer at the Victoria General Hospital. She loved her volunteer work and looked forward each week to her time spent in the gift shop. Madrie's family would like to extend thanks to all the family and friends who took the time to call or visit. A special thank you also goes out to all the health care professionals who helped to make her time here more comfortable. Prayers will be held on Saturday, June 12, at 7:00 p.m. at 39 Eagleridge Court, Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation where Madrie gave generously of her time. • Dear Padi...once in awhile I will look up my mom's obituary and just stare at it. Her first anniversary is almost here and it will no doubt, be difficult.. I remember my mom saying your mom had passed away and I am so very sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of your mother and looking at this beautiful picture of her I see you....I think of you often my friend from long ago...love Janet - Posted by: Janet Hatton () on: Jul 17, 2014
