CLARA DINER

CLARA DINER (Brenner) Mother was born in Winnipeg September 9, 1914. She lived her 95 years with enthusiasm until February 18, 2010. She taught us life by example, rising early each morning to cook, clean, bake, knit, crochet, and sew. Her hobbies included playing the piano, she dabbled in painting, collected bells, and was an avid reader. She was teaching right to the end. She made a point of carefully confirming to her children her gratitude for her wonderful life. She told us how lucky she was to have shared life with husband Lou and how thankful she was for her children and grandchildren. She made positive contributions throughout her life. She had been Secretary and President of Aliyah Chapter Hadassah, served as Secretary and Committee Chairman of La Sertoma, and well into her 80s was still delivering Meals on Wheels. Predeceased by her parents, Minnie and Leon Brenner, her Husband of 49 years Lou Diner, her infant Son Edward, Grandson Tristan, her Brother Sid Brenner, Sister and Brother-in-Law Mollie and Charlie Rusen, Brothers-in-Law/Sister-in-Law Alan Diner, Mickey Diner and Joyce Diner. Survived by her Children Alex (Susan), Joseph (Sandi), and Richard (Mary), Grandsons Colin and Louie, Sisters-in-Law Jocelyn Brenner and Shirley Diner, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Funeral services were held at Etz Chayim and interment followed at Rosh Pina Cemetery. Pallbearers Jack Rusen, David Rusen, Gary Brenner, David Secter, Leon Stein, Colin Diner. Honorary Pallbearers, Syd Kowall, Adrienne Diner. Mother was thankful for the Home Care System and the kind Home Care Staff who supported her dignity and independence. The kindness of Staff at first floor Concordia Hospital was beyond description. Mother suggested that donations may be made to Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Chapter, or Ronald McDonald House.
