ELIZABETH EMILY MCCORQUODALE (nee MURRAY) May 6, 1927 - June 13, 2010 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share with you the passing on Sunday, June 13, 2010 of Elizabeth Emily, who after a long and courageous battle with cancer passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Martha and Frederick, three sisters Violet, Kathy, Esther and brother Ronny. Survived by husband Robert, daughters Bonnie (Rob), Brenda (Patrick), Barbara (Darcy), sister Freda, brothers Leslie (Peg) and Kenny, five grandchildren Joshua (23), Zachary (20), Braydon (19), Kara-Elizabeth (17) and Alexander (12). Elizabeth (Betty) was born in 1927, in Brighton, England. After surviving the war years her adventurous spirit brought her and sister, Freda to Canada in 1953. Crossing the ocean by ship they joined their other sister Violet in Ontario. Elizabeth eventually moved to Winnipeg where she met Robert, the man she has shared her life with for the past 56 years. In 1958 they moved to BC, put down roots and later were blessed with three daughters. In her younger years she was active in the ladies' church group, volunteering, baking and sharing her time wherever needed. Elizabeth will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening and gracious heart. Her house was open to all who came by, where you always were treated like a part of the family. A Celebration of Life to be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660-72nd Avenue Surrey BC, Friday June 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Peace Arch Hospice or a charity of your choice. A special thanks to Drs.
