MARION TORCH It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden loss of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Marion Evelyn Torch (nee Nelson) after a brief illness on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Marion is predeceased by her loving husband Tom and brother Bengt. She is fondly remembered as a loving mother by Tim (Rosemary); Laura (Doug) Neweberry; Cory (Gail); Chris (Iain) Black. She is survived by her siblings Solvig Buckingham; Elsie (Bryan) Currie; and Bob (Lena) Nelson. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Avery (Dwight) Hulbert; Breanne (Scott) Ramsay; Tyler; Morgan; Thomas; Jordan and Danielle Black and her precious great-grandchildren Emily and Andrew Ramsay, and Ella Hulbert. Marion was married in 1952 and started her family shortly thereafter. Having retired from Canada Packers after 40 years she enjoyed a busy and active retirement. While travelling abroad and spending time with her family who adored her, Marion always found time to give back to the community. Marion was a dedicated volunteer at Grey Street United Church U.C.W. and River East Personal Care Home. She will be remembered as selfless and caring and someone who had always made time to listen and lend a helping hand. A celebration of life will be held at Grey Street United Church at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010. We would like to thank St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate that donations be made in Marion's name to Grey Street United Church or St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
