PEARL NERON Sadly, after a long illness, Pearl passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on June 15, 2010. She was predeceased by her parents, Dora and William Flochia; husband Jean; brothers, William and Mike; sisters, Mary and Helen; and nephew Steve. She will be fondly remembered by her sons, Jean Jr. (Lisa) and Marcel; nieces and nephews, Les (Lorrette) Ivaniski; Marvel Obsnuk; Dorothy Prychitko; Pauline Ivaniski; Nick (Ruth) Ivaniski; Jeanette Seavers; Olga (Bert) Olender; Violet (Ron) Sitka; Walter (Betty) Ivaniski. Pearl was born in Winnipeg, and grew up on a farm near Gypsumville. As a young woman, she travelled to Chicago and New York to see the sights. She later settled in Winnipeg and worked at Eatons. She met her future husband the first time at Winnipeg Beach, and according to Mom, he didn't make much of an impression. However, almost a year later, by coincidence they met again at a Salisbury House. He offered to walk her home, and she accepted. When they got to where Mom was living, Dad started laughing. He was living right next door. After Eatons, Pearl worked at Salisbury House, then Sears before retiring. After retirement, she and Dad enjoyed the outdoor life in their trailer at Tall Timber Lodge with the company of their two dogs, Boozer and Bonnie. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006. We thank Pearl's nieces, Olga, Dorothy and Vi, as well her nephew Nick for all their help and kindness over the last few years. Mom was always cheered up by your visits. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service and reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 21 at the Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, with interment to follow. 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca Ample parking behind funeral home.
