MIKE HARRIS It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa on Sunday, June 13, 2010 after a brief illness. Missing Dad is his wife Christine of 62 years of marriage; son Jack (Karen, Blake, Leanne and Bryan); daughter Marilyn (Ernie, Lee (Crystal), Aynsley and Christey); sister-in-law, Vera; brother-in-law, Jack (Roberta) as well as several nieces. From his charismatic personality to his fiery temper, life with Dad was never dull. He was a colourful character who made each day worthwhile. Some of his favourite pastimes were holidaying with Mom, tinkering in his yard and garage, and the Friday morning Mosienko Senior Men's Bowling League with a great group of guys . The guys surprised Dad with a 90th birthday party last March, which thrilled him, and we would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to them for their thoughtfulness. Dad was proud of his kids but even more proud of his grandkids and their achievements. He was always a willing spectator at their activities and by the event's end all in attendance were aware of who his grandkids were and who they got their talent and good looks from. As with all parents, family gatherings were especially enjoyable for Dad. He would take his place at the table's head with his glass of wine and count his many blessings. Dad especially enjoyed interacting with the littlest grandkids, Portia and Cody, and marveled at their boundless energy. In compliance with Dad's wishes there will be no formal Funeral Service. We would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency and GH4 for their care of Dad during his brief stay, along with his neighbours, particularly Damien and Maureen, for their companionship and watchful eyes. Rest easy Dad knowing how much you are loved and that we will carry your memory in our hearts eternally and please Dad, for heaven's sake, behave! Love you, Dad.
