GLADYS B. WALLER December 8, 1913 - January 17, 2010 Mom's wonderful journey through life ended just weeks after her 96th birthday. Mom was born at Barrow Bridge, England, where she grew up with her three sisters and her brother. In 1944 she came to Canada as a war bride. Her beloved husband Bill passed away when we were all very young children. We then moved on to Tremblay Street and there she spent her entire life until having to be placed into Poseidon Care Centre due to Alzheimers. Mom had many tragedies throughout her life; the last being the death of her son Wayne 10 years ago. Through it all she held up her head. She never forgot how to laugh. She kept her zest for life. She lived it bravely. Mom loved to play Bingo any chance she got and went on many bus trips. She loved the lake and would sit for hours at the point, fishing. We all loved her humour and her grandchildren especially got a kick out her feisty nature and or course Nana's comical Popeye face. She is with us all when we smile or laugh and our memories will last forever. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Gail (George) and Susan (Glen), her daughter-in-law Donna, six granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. Goodbye Mom, Nana, we love you dearly. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Poseidon and her care companion Doris, for their care and compassion. A graveside service will take place at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue, on Friday, June 25, at 2:30 p.m., where Mom will join our father in the Field of Honour. Please meet in front of the administration office at 2:25 p.m. NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949 - 2200 nbardal.mb.ca
