Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT GEORGE GORRELL April 25, 1954 - June 12, 2010 It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bob' on June 12, 2010 at the young age of 56. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kate, stepdaughter Lauren (Curt), and stepson Colin (Lily). Also left to cherish his memory are Margaret (his mom), sister Lori (Reid), nephew Jordy, cousin Pam (Robert) of Calgary, along with numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Ernie; niece / goddaughter Nicole, and special Aunts Mary and Catherine. Bob was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the St. James area, graduating from S.J.C.I. in 1972. Bob enjoyed going on canoe trips and fishing trips with his friends in his earlier years. There is a family cottage at Pinawa Bay which he thoroughly enjoyed, and loved to putter around both in summer and winter. Pinawa Bay was a special spot for him, as he and his father built the cottage. Throughout his working career of 33 years with Air Canada, he held different positions, and finally retired in 2006. Bob enjoyed many trips throughout his years, and the most recent was the long awaited honeymoon in Jamaica in February 2010. He was also a lover of animals, and always had a dog, cat, or both. The family pets: dogs Shadow and Cheyene, and cats Milo and Raven, will miss him terribly. Bob enjoyed his friends and had a great sense of humour and infectious laugh, which will be missed by us all. The family would like to thank the Pinawa Hospital E.R. staff, the Pinawa Paramedics and the E.R. and I.C.U. staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their help and support. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration Reception will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any No Kill Shelter of choice, or the Canadian Liver Foundation, Manitoba Chapter, PO Box 1943, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2.
