TEODOR (TED) SRIBNIAK Peacefully, on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Holy Family Home, Teodor Sribniak, aged 93 years. Ted is survived by son Peter (Anna) and grandchildren, Sonia (John) Vance and Adam. He was predeceased by his wife Olha in 1981. Ted was born in 1916 in selo Hrabivka-Zaviy, Ivano-Frankivsk district, Western Ukraine. During the Second World War he was taken to Germany for forced labour. There he met Olha Dmytruk whom he married in 1946. They moved to England where Peter was born and in 1954 the family moved to Winnipeg. He was employed with the City of Winnipeg for over 20 years, retiring in 1981. Ted was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and supported many Ukrainian organizations. Ted was a lifelong member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. He loved gardening with Olha and after retiring, he also enjoyed travelling. He spent his final years in Holy Family Home. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. B. Gorski and Marta Hryniuk for their help on Ted's behalf, and also to the staff of Holy Family Home. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, also at the chapel with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Ted's memory may be made to Holy Family Home or Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral.
