Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY BERNIE LITWIN After a brief illness, Stanley passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 83 years, with his beloved wife of 54 years of marriage, Martha, by his side. Left to cherish Stanley's memory are his sisters, Vanda (Eddy) MacDonald, Matilda Lupyrypa; brother Ted (Marie); numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Michael in 1970; mother Katherine in 1992; sisters, Nellie, Gertie and Susan; and brother John. Stanley was born in Gimli on April 7, 1927. At the tender age of 14 and for the next 14 years, Stan was a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg. After he married Martha Spakowski on June 16, 1956, they moved to Winnipeg where he pursued a career in the transportation industry, driving a chartered bus for Moore's across the USA and Canada. Later Stanley worked for the Society for Crippled Children and Adults (now known as SMD), after which he retired. Stan lived in Winnipeg, but his heart always remained on Lake Winnipeg. Stanley and Martha shared a love of fishing and the outdoors that never wavered. Winter found them driving his Arctic Cat through pristine forests to many a favourite ice-fishing spot. Stanley also enjoyed curling and playing golf. In compliance with Stanley's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Stanley's memory to a charity of your choice. Love You Forever
