RONALD JOHN BRAUN June 20, 1949 - June 19, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce Ron's passing, with his family at his side, after a brave battle with cancer. Ron will be sadly missed by his wife Teresita (nee Lising), his sons Tim (Maria) and John, his daughter Candace, brother Grant (Esther), sisters Darlene, Verlie (Orville), and Kim (George), grandchildren Bianca and Rocco, many nephews, nieces and extended family. Born in Winnipeg, Ron was hard working and shared a love of carpentry with his father Henry. His many furniture and renovation projects were a testament to his skill and craftsmanship. He especially enjoyed the outdoors and appreciated traveling throughout Manitoba while working for Manitoba Hydro. Ron was an avid storyteller and took pleasure in sharing humourous anecdotes with family and friends. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Daeninck and Dr. St. Goddard, the staff at CancerCare and particularly the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and attention to Ron. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with an interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Thank you to all our family for their love and support. Hi Allan, thank you for remembering my dad and the great times we shared with him at our little cottage near Delta Beach. You sure brought back a lot of good memories and emotions. One of the memories I recall is you and dad wrestling in the snow in the front of the cottage after a few beverages lol. Boy we sure had a lot of fun back then and will never forget the great times we shared together with him. We didn't have a lot back then, but dad made sure we had fun. My wonderful daughter Bianca noticed your condolences and let me know. I hope all is well with you and your family. Take care buddy. Tim - Posted by: Tim (Eldest Son) on: Dec 17, 2024

Awed it’s with the purest of fondness I remember Ron because of his son Tim.. we would pick him up from work in his Van (beautiful one too) as he would let his eldest do. Tim borrow it and I would hide in the back and he would comment that he would smell mosquito spray (referring to my cologne lol)because I would hide as the surprise that Tim would spontaneously shock him with 😂. Then I would pop out… I even had the privilege of going to his cottage in the woods with him and his son on a couple of occasions. He was a kind and generous man.. RIP Ron 🙏 - Posted by: Allan Platsko (Friend) on: Aug 03, 2024
