ROBERT TIMOTHY SULLIVAN June 8, 1941 June 19, 2010 With his beloved Shirley in arms, Bob passed suddenly but peacefully doing what he loved, listening to the quietness of the outdoors in his 5th Wheel at Birds Hill Park. Remaining to forever cherish Bob's memory are his wife Shirley, of 46 years of marriage; three sons, Sean (Carole), Steven (Lisa) and Blair (Debbie); four beautiful grandchildren, Brent, Megan, Michael and Karsten which he adored; two brothers Edward and Donald. He was predeceased by his mother Irene Robertson; father Tim Sullivan; brother Paul; sister Joy and niece Emma. After 31 years in CF and RCAF serving on the Pine Tree line - throughout MB, SK and ON, Bob retired from the military. Trading in his uniform for a mismatched suit and paisley tie he served another five years as a civil servant with DND. Bob was a true gentleman who touched the lives of his many friends through his church, volunteer work and a variety of sports. As a true sportsman, among his passions in life were hockey and slow pitch, sports he played for over 30 years and for which he received many awards. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Roman Catholic Church, 2235 Silver Avenue at Whytewold Road with Rev. Fr. Lance Magdziak, presiding. Thank you to the angels, Derek and Laurie Kerney of Cold Lake, whom God sent to help Shirley at Bird's Hill at her time of need. Derek, who is a medic and also retired from the military aided and comforted her tremendously at this most difficult time. Bob volunteered at the Grace Hospital, so in lieu of flowers donations to Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Street, R3J 3M7. Missed already and forever will be.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Bob and I first met at CFS Ramore where he and his family lived in the local on-site trailer park. We were Rdr Techs at the time and I always remember that Bob's beloved coffee cup was never far from his hand! Bob was always working to improve the quality of life for the CFS Ramore community. Later while stationed in Ottawa, we did some family camping together. Bob was a caring and generous man and an outstanding Air Force NCO/Officer. Our love goes out to the family and friends of Bob. • Bob's passing came as shocking news. I had worked with him on two separate occasions. He was easy going, a gentleman and always ready with a joke or anecdote, qualities that endeared him to all. Bob took his fitness seriously and was always in top physical condition, factors which make his passing even more difficult to understand. We extend to Shirley and all Family members our "Deepest Sympathy" in the loss of your Husband, Father and Grandfather. His being here made the world a better place for all of us. Always remembered.
