VERA (PAROBEC) RODECK

VERA (PAROBEC) RODECK It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Vera (Parobec) Rodeck, daughter of Alex and Lena Parobec, born August 22, 1921 in Angusville, MB. She passed away June 21, 2010 in Winnipeg at the age of 88 years. Vera went to Tuckersmith School near Angusville. She married Joseph Rodeck in 1943 and raised four children, Linda, Brian, Brenda and Trudy. Vera and Joe owned and operated a grocery store in Angusville as well as a grain farm. They moved to Russell in 1968. In 1979 Joe suddenly passed away. Vera remained in Russell until 1994. She moved to Winnipeg to be near her children and remained there until her passing. Vera is survived by her four children, Linda (Ken) Malcolm of Dauphin, Brian of Winnipeg, Brenda of Winnipeg and Trudy (Sid) Nernberg of Winnipeg; her grandchildren Simone, Monte, Dustin, Erika, Leighton, Madison and Haley; her great-grandchildren, Daisy, Dylan and Duncan and her sister Caroline Antonio. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; daughter-in-law Jill, five brothers and five sisters. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 26 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Russell. Prayers will be said Friday at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Monte Rodeck, Dustin Rodeck, Leighton Powell, Sid Nernberg, Ken Malcolm and Zenon Dzwonyk. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch Home for their excellent care and support of Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vera's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
