MARY VERNA PEDEN (nee MONTAGUE) Mary Peden, age 94 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010. Born on January 8, 1916, in Bengough SK, she was raised and educated in Petersfield, MB. She was the last surviving member of her generation of the Montague and Peden families. Mary was a dedicated homemaker, devoted mother and loving wife of the late James Peden. Mary is survived by her children: Lois Alpers of Stonewall, MB, Brian (Pearl) Peden of Thunder Bay, Lynne (Douglas) Evans of Portland, ON, Anita (Jean) Wong of Ottawa, Keith (Nicola) Peden of Calgary, her grandchildren: Bev (Ross) Galbraith, Lori (Richard) Maloney, Andrea (Bill) McParland, Clark (Gretchen) Evans, Hope (Duncan) Chambers, Shane, Alan and Amy Wong, and Hilary and Fiona Peden, her great-grandchildren: Kirsten (Dustin) Roth, Kevin Galbraith, Liam and Tiernan Maloney, and Maggie and Quinn Evans. Mary was a faithful member of Lakeview Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay or Lakeview Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
