ADAM MARTIN FRANZ It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, age of 95, at Red River Nursing Home, Selkirk, MB, with family at his side. He is survived by his wife Tillie, of 65 years; ten children, Ardene, Bob, Reverend Frank, Lorraine (John), Loretta (Phil), Vern (Jayne), Arnie, Perry, Glen (Janice), Deb (Glen); ten grandchildren, Tracy (Bob), Angie (Jason), Rae Allyn (Johnny), Jonathan (Tara), Holly, Chelsea, Tavian, Carson, Bailee and Bree; and 12 great-grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, P.J., Maddison, Tommy, Emmalee, Charmaine, Logan, Lucas, Nathan, Hayden, and Avery. He is also survived by his siblings Joe (Helen) and Lil; sister-in-law Anne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Johann and Apollana, and siblings Mike, Tony (Vera), Kay (Mac and their son Sach and granddaughter), Emily (Chris and son Johnny and daughter Teresa), Mary (Stevie), John, Anna, and brother-in-law Bill. Adam was a kind and gentle man who believed in family, society, and social change. He was born on August 17, 1914 in Berlo, MB, and married Tillie on November 10, 1944. He retired to Gimli in 1974 and lived there until 2005, where he then became a resident of Red River Place (due to Alzheimers) for the last five and one half years. The family wishes to thank the staff at Red River Place for their wonderful care and support, especially Natalie. Funeral mass will be officiated by his son, Father Frank, at St. Theresa's Church, 3597 Main Street, West St. Paul, on Friday, July 2 at 11.00 a.m. Lunch to follow the service and interment will follow the luncheon in the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Society, CancerCare Manitoba, or a charity of choice Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
