Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID GRANT CAMPBELL On Tuesday, June 29, 2010, David Grant Campbell, beloved husband of Claudia Ruth (Doern) Campbell, died peacefully at Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon with family members at his side. David was born at home in the Dundas District on April 22, 1927. His birth was the late Dr. J.M. Goodwin's first call East of Teulon and he often reminded David of the mud he had to go through that day. David was predeceased by his parents, Ruby and Mark Campbell; his brother Willard; and his sister Elsie Main. He was also predeceased by his daughter Catherine Blythe; his son David Ian and his grandson Austin Willis. David attended Dundas School, worked for a short period at Stonewall Quarries and returned to the family farm where he remained until retiring to Teulon in 1992. David and Claudia were married in Teulon United Church on May 11, 1957. He is survived by Claudia, son Findlay George (Bobbi), daughter Megan Ruth (Ken Petrowski), Doreen (Steve Perron); Mark Willis and by grandchildren, Matthew Campbell, Kristi Willis, Brennon and Samantha Campbell, David, Jayden and Desirae Perron. He was always active in his community and his church. Leading 4H, serving on the church board and as an elder, a Sunday School teacher and choir member. His other activities included the Curling Club, Hall Board, Arena Board, Ambulance Attendant and Handi Van Driver, and playing Santa Claus until Ian commented that Santa's voice sounded like dad's voice! He resumed that activity in a few years when it was safe to do so! Friends and family are invited to share in a service of remembrance on Saturday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teulon United Church or a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
