Mike was the last survivor of Joseph and Julia Kologie, predeceased also by sister Susan Horbas, and brother Stanley (Mildred) Kologie. Mike has had many illnesses which made his life challenging. Mike was one of the co-founders of H K Transfer in Libau, Manitoba in the late 1940s. In 1950 Mike met the love of his life Alice and they settled in Libau, Manitoba. Mike left the transfer in 1960, and started contracting with his International TD9 Cat, loading and hauling gravel for the R.M., building a parking lot at the Patricia Beach Provincial Park, custom breaking of land, and farming 80 acres in the Libau area. Mike was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He drove the school bus for the Lord Selkirk School Division, delivered mail by contract for Canada Post and retired in 1985. Mike and Alice enjoyed traveling throughout Canada and the U.S.A. Together they were Winnipeg Blue Bomber and Winnipeg Jet fans, enjoyed watching football, hockey, curling and baseball. Mike was an avid bridge player, a great dancer, and he loved bingo and casinos. Mike especially loved Christmas when all of his family would get together. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Graham R. Fuchs, Linda Borsa and Dr. N. Elbardisy. Also, Dad's Home Care ladies, Gerri, Phyllis, Lorraine and Co-coordinators Pam and Shelly. As per Mike's wishes cremation has taken place and a private service is being held for immediate family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
