Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED (DONALD) WOOD Peacefully, after a brave battle with heart disease, while waiting for a heart transplant Don passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010 with family by his side at The Mazankowski Heart Institute in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 58 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Teresa. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother Margaret; brothers, Jim (Maureen), Jeff (Ronda) and his Sis Coleen (Greg). Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his father Wilfred. Don will be especially missed by his dear niece Treasure his casino and card buddy, bartender and nurse. Treasure was there for him always. The Two Amigos . He will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Bernice Borys and brother-in-law Tom (Joanne) and all the Borys family. Don was born and raised and still resided in the Brooklands area. He had childhood friends until the end. He enjoyed many fishing trips, golf games and get togethers with his friends, Wayne Palmer, Jerry McLean, Randy Hunt, Danny Wills and bro Ron Vaughan. Don worked at Domtar Gypsum for 29 years and later Hi-Tech Hydraulics (HT Seals). A celebration of Don's life will be held Monday, July 5, 2010 at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Bergen Cardiac Care Centre and Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
