CLAIRE EVANS Born Claire Patricia Hanvey on November 4, 1934, died peacefully at her home with her three granddaughters by her side on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Jennifer, Amanda and Lianne were with Claire continuously since November 2009. Claire was very proud to have worked at Standard Aero in Winnipeg for 34 years and was pleased to re-acquaint with several of her co-workers at an end of life celebration party on March 27. Claire most recently lived at 64 Nassau where, up until recently, she enjoyed playing bridge with fellow residents and friends. Claire enjoyed frequent trips to Vancouver and Ottawa to visit brothers Jack and Paul and share time with their families. Some of Claire's fondest memories were of trips to Ireland. The first was in 1950 and the second in 2001. She kindled and re-kindled strong family ties on both trips and kept Irish stories close to heart all the while. Claire's greatest accomplishment was her unwavering attachment to family. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and always had energy enough to love and support her three children, Beth, Bill and Jamie, her three granddaughters Amanda (Craig), Lianne (Erwin) and Jennifer (Derek) and her six great-grandchildren Gerald, Micheal, Stephanie, Nadine, Michelle and Kody. Until we meet again, our blue-eyed beauty, forever in our hearts you will be. How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
