JOE CEWICK Peacefully, after a brief illness, Joe Cewick of St. Claude, MB passed away at 87 years of age. Joe leaves to mourn his loving wife of 58 years, Minnie, his two children Linda (Denis) Poirier and Gerry (Linda) Cewick. He had great love and pride for his grandchildren Stefan and Eric Poirier and Marina and Nicolas Cewick. Also left to mourn his loss are brother Tony (France) Cewick, Minnie's brother Roland (Annette) Chevrier, sisters-in-law Verna Ball and Joyce Chevrier, family friend Joane Lussier, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Anna, brothers Bill (twin) and Frank and sister Pauline. Dad was a humble, honest man. He treasured his family above all else and was always there to give a helping hand. A sense of pride was behind everything that he did, as was evident by his garden, shop, yard, and many projects. He taught us many valuable life lessons, gave us common sense, and we shall always be grateful having him as our father. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church with Father Marcel Carriere officiating, on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., followed by burial in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Plains CancerCare Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8.
