JESSIE (JAY) RIDD October 7, 1918 - June 29, 2010 Jay and Harold - Together Again Surrounded by family, Jessie (Jay) Ridd passed away at Tuxedo Villa on June 29, 2010. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Jessie Pascoe, beloved and much missed husband Harold (2001), loving son Robert (2006), she is survived and will be greatly missed by her devoted daughter Margaret; grandsons, John Ridd (Cathy), Michael Ridd (Krissy) and great-grandchildren, Faith, Anna, Katie, Mitchell and Emily; her sister Margaret Smith, sister-in-law Kay Ridd, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She made friends easily and was blessed to have several friendships that lasted from childhood. After her family and friends, her greatest pleasure was time spent at the cottage at Victoria Beach where she had been going to since 1921, and it was a sad day when the cottage was sold in 2001. Mom was able to stay in her home, with the assistance of home care workers until January 2009. She moved to Tuxedo Villa in April 2009 and we would like to thank all the staff (especially Station One) for their dedication and loving care throughout mom's 15 month stay. Thanks to all who were kind enough to visit and spend time with mom. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street (St. Vital), Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of your choice.
