MARIA FUNK (nee PETERS) April 25, 1924 - July 4, 2010 On Sunday morning, July 4, 2010, Maria Funk went home in the arms of her Lord. To cherish her memory, she leaves her six children, Peter Funk and (Michelle Montsion), Henry and (Brenda) Funk, Gary Funk, Elfriede and (Jack) Lake, Hans Funk, Annemarie and (Peter) Harbun; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsa and (Walter) Schmidt, Margarete and (Klaus) Dittmann, one brother, Heinrich and (Elsie) Peters. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter; two brothers, Gerhard and Jakob; a daughter-in-law, Eileen McLean; two grandchildren, Taylor and Robin as well as her parents, Gerhard and Helena. Her grandchildren and great-grand-children are: Kathleen and (Al) Klohn and children Travis and Nicole; Michael Funk and (Loni Jack); Meghan Funk and daughter Skylar (Sunshine); John and (Amanda) Lake and children Cody and Tayden; Scott and (Michelle) Lake and son Solomon; Amber and (Scott) Harbun-Ewing and daughter Isabelle; Hillary Harbun and (Rick Matheson); Isreal Funk; Courtenay Funk; Michaela McLean (Michael Viala) and son Jakob; Krista Paulson; Richard Pohl. The funeral will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee.
