ROBERT (BOB) DRESSEL 1947 - 2010 It is with shock and sadness that the family of Robert Dressel announces his sudden passing at the age of 63. Bob was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended Miles Macdonell High School and graduated from the University of Manitoba, receiving a Bachelor of Arts. Bob was recently predeceased by his parents Linda and Walter Dressel. Bob's devotion and assistance allowed Walter and Linda to remain in their home; which they and all of the family greatly appreciated. He is fondly remembered by his sister, Maureen (Greg) McDonnell of Cambridge, ON and his brother Lawrence (Pat) Dressel of Saskatoon, his nephews and nieces, and many good friends. Bob had a quick wit, an infectious smile, and enjoyed debating any subject. He developed at a young age a disdain for the long cold winters of the Canadian prairies. For many of his young adult years, Bob would work through the summer, then when late fall arrived, he was off to Acapulco for the winter with friends, driving an old clunker which made one wonder if they would make it. When this group of friends settled down to marry, pursue careers, and raise families, the Mexican adventures ended and he moved to Calgary, where he lived until the bust of 1983, when he somewhat grudgingly returned to Winnipeg. Bob loved sports and later in life developed a passion for golf. Bob retired just a few months ago and was enjoying life golfing with his friends. He was busy making his plans to head south this winter for more golfing and warm weather. A cremation has taken place. For all who would like to say a farewell, and share memories of Bob, a celebration of life will occur on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion, Henderson Highway Branch, 3600 DeVries Ave. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. - 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com
