FRANK SAMUEL SHAW August 30, 1937 - July 1, 2010 Peacefully, after a year-long battle with cancer and in the company of family, Frank passed away on July 1, 2010 in Teulon, MB. Frank is lovingly remembered by his children Craig (Pam) and Christine; his grandchildren Erin, Brenna and Caitlyn; his granddog Jasper, and his cherished puppy poo', Patches. Also left to remember are his sister Phoebe (John) Sigurdson, nieces Donna (Jim) Fowler and Diane (David) Stariha, and nephew David (Janice) Sigurdson; grandnieces and nephews, and many cousins. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Phyllis (nee Coote), and his twin brother David, who passed away shortly after their birth. Frank enjoyed the simple things in life - hunting, fishing, canoeing, and spending time outside whenever possible. He was an incredibly strong man who never wanted to be a bother to anyone. Frank was old-fashioned in most things, except his embracing of technology, especially computers and cell phones. He became a master texter' as a means of keeping in touch with his children and friends. He was a handyman and a ham radio operator for many years. He had a real sweet tooth, and never met a lemon meringue pie he didn't like. He didn't always express himself fully in words, but his deeds spoke volumes. He was always there for his children in their times of need. We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion they showed our Dad during his final days. The tenderness and respect you gave to Frank will be remembered always. In accordance with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private gathering in celebration of Frank's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
