LORRAINE MARTYNUK (nee COLLINS) It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden, yet peaceful passing of Lorraine on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Victoria Hospital. Lorraine was born in Winnipeg on the 13th of May, 1929 to Pauline and Richard Collins of Transcona. She lived in Transcona until her marriage to Tony in 1952 which then took her to various Canadian Forces Bases both in Canada and Europe. She resettled in Transcona in 1971 to be near family to continue raising her children. She worked for many years with the City of Winnipeg holding various positions. She had been retired from the City for many years, and was a resident at River Park Gardens since 2007. Lorraine is survived by her children John (Gerry) Martynuk, Joanne (Peter) Pearson, Richard (Carol) Martynuk, Leonard Martynuk, and her sister Pat (Doug) Henne. She is also survived by her grandchildren John, Michelle, Brent, Matthew, and Jeffrey and by her great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Seine River House at River Park Gardens for the outstanding care she received over the years! She felt like you all were her extended family! A celebration of her life will be held on July 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. • My condolences to Lorraine's family. Lorraine and I started grade school together and developed a long lasting friendship. While circumstance kept us apart, Lorraine has always been in my thoughts. May peace be with her. Elsie Gorewich - Posted by: Elsie Gorewich (Friend) on: Jul 12, 2010
