RUTH MROCHUK (nee BROESKA) It is with great sadness, and heavy hearts, that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 80 years on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital with her family by her side. Remaining to forever cherish Ruth's memory are her husband, Stan of 61 years of marriage; daughter Debbie Weight (Wayne); son Don (Penny); daughter Cory Daly (Bruce); son Tim (Patricia); son Tracy (Lorraine); 12 grand-children; six great-grandchildren; she will also be sadly missed by six sisters; Joan, Kathy, Patricia, Judy, Lori and Jackie and two brothers; Raymond and Kenny and their spouses, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Adella Broeska; and sister Rita. Ruth was born in St. Boniface on November 19, 1929, the eldest daughter of Jacob and Adella Broeska. Mom dedicated her life to family and friends. She loved her summer outings at Blue Lake and Bird River and the numerous trips with Stan and the kids. Some of Mom's passions included sewing, fishing, baking and knitting. The grandchildren could always find mittens in Nana's knitting box when they needed them. The CWL of Christ the King could always count on her to fill the hampers with knitting at Christmas. She was also a life-long member of the Original Happy Anglers Fishing Club. Prayers will be held on Thursday evening on July 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Mary's Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Renato Pasinato, presiding. Honourary Pallbearers will be Ruth's grandsons. The family would like to extend their profound gratitude to the home care staff who took such good care of their Ruth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.
