ANTONIO VIOLI It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Antonio Violi on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Antonio died peacefully at Concordia Hospital with loving family at his side. Antonio was born on October 25, 1935 in Santa Cristina D'Aspromonte, Reggio, Calabria, Italy. He immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1962. He worked at the University of Manitoba for 36 years and upon retirement enjoyed spending time with his close family and friends and always loved spending time in his garden. Antonio was predeceased by his parents, Domenico and Michelina Violi; his sister Domenica (Giuseppe) Russo and his brother Giuseppe Violi. Antonio will be lovingly remembered by his wife Angelina; his daughter Michelina; his sons, Domenico (Cindy) and Saverino; his grand-children, Zachary, Megan and Alexandria; his sisters, Angela (Franco) Cirillo, Rosetta (Angelo) Romeo and Maria (Carmen) Urciuoli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law and family still residing in Italy. Antonio was a loving husband, an amazing father, grandfather and brother. He was a generous, talented, caring and compassionate man and he will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 15 at 10:00 a.m. also in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Angel Mausoleum, located in Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Heartfelt thanks to the pallbearers, Joe Leuzzi, Pat Romeo, Danny Urcuioli, Gino Guzzi, Domenico Violi, Saverino Violi and (Honorary Pallbearer) Zachary Violi. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Concordia Hospital and to Dr. E. Doermer for his on-going care of Antonio.
