KENNETH LAUCHLAN With great sadness, we wish to announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend, Kenneth Lauchlan. After a five-month battle with cancer, he unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Ken was born in St. John's, NF and moved to Winnipeg with his family in 1962 where he completed his education at the University of Winnipeg after attending River East. While at university, he met his future wife, Ann. They wed in the summer of 1980, and then had two daughters Anna (Christy) and Jennifer. Ken's passions included travelling and sports with an even greater passion for the Boston Red Sox. In 2004 while in China, his passions collided and he unfortunately missed the greatest comeback of Red Sox history and their subsequent World Series victory. We will all miss his sense of humour and his ability to make us laugh. Ken leaves behind his parents, Marian and Stuart, his sister, Janet, his brothers, Donald, David and James, his wife, Ann, and daughters, Anna (Christy) and Jennifer as well as many nieces, cousins, uncles, aunts, in-laws and a strong circle of friends. Cremation has already been performed at Wheeler Funeral Chapel and at Ken's request, there will be no formal service. The family would like to thank Cancercare Manitoba and the neurology department of Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be submitted to Cancercare Manitoba.
