DUNCAN EARL KIPPEN Duncan was born in Winnipeg May 2, 1943. Raised in Winnipeg he graduated with a B.Sc. Always a salesman he learned retailing at the Eaton Company and following his training was active in women's fashions as a manufacturer's agent and as a retailer creating World Fashions with five stores across Western Canada. He married Nancy Moncrieff and they had two daughters, Jennifer and Wendy. Dunc enjoyed music, especially piano, golfed, curled competitively in Manitoba and Quebec and loved to hunt. Times at West Hawk Lake were special with his teenage friends and later his family. Later in life he met and married Shirley Hulan from Newfoundland and together they made a new life on the West Coast and latterly Okotoks. They travelled the continent in their mobile home and loved to sing and perform with friends in British Columbia, the desert and Okotoks. Duncan passed away at home, with his loving wife Shirley at his side, on June 19, 2010 in Okotoks. Duncan was predeceased by his mother Marguerite and father Duncan. He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters Jennifer Schindle (Ray), Wendy Bulger (Mike), Velda and Adora; son Wilf; stepmother Marga Kippen; aunt Nonny Nichols; brother Robert (Maura) and sister Stacey Weeks (Andy); 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and his many friends. A celebration of his life was held at Calvenna Village in Okotoks on June 30, 2010. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cardiac Services at Calgary Foothills Hospital for their care, compassion and support through Duncan's lengthy illness. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Duncan's name.
