DIANE KOZIARSKI (nee RELKIE) 1944 - 2010 It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane June Koziarski on July 13, 2010 with family by her side at St. Boniface Hospital. Mom was born on May 16, 1944 in Winnipeg, MB to the late Charles and June Relkie. Left to cherish Diane's memory is Larry, her loving husband of 43 years; daughter Jennifer (Vince), precious grandchildren McKenzie and Ashton, son Adam, daughter Jillian (Blake) (future granddaughter), twin sister Susan (Gordon), brothers Bruce (Adrienne), Glen and Neil (Cindy), brothers-in-law Reg (deceased) (Daria) and Brian (Pauline), along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. During her children's formative years, Diane stayed at home but as her children got older, she decided to pursue a career. In 1983 Mom joined the Purchasing Department at Misericordia Hospital and through her hard work and determination she would later achieve the position of Purchasing Director. In 2000, she was seconded by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and retired in 2005 as Equipment Coordinator. During their retirement years Diane and Larry enjoyed many trips together along with friends cruising from Alaska to the Mediterranean. Diane's greatest pleasure was her grandchildren McKenzie and Ashton, and was affectionately known as Grandma Larry'. She enjoyed hours of reading, daily walks and working on her American Heirloom rugs, which was an interest that she shared with her mother. Mom's favourite place to be was the cottage at Royal Lake, which she has enjoyed since her parents built it 40 years ago. It was a place of peace and comfort over the many years, including numerous family celebrations and togetherness. Mom was a kind, quiet and gentle person who will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew her. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment and reception to follow. A special thank you to the Palliative Care wing at St. Boniface Hospital. Donations, if so desired, may be made in Diane's memory to Manitoba CancerCare. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

  • I hope this was the wife of my very best friend while in high school in Winnipeg. Larry's brother was Brian and they lived in EK. My family was on Prince Rupert, we both went to St Pauls with Ed Puchlik as a buddy. - Posted by: Bryan Krecsy (Very good friend) on: Dec 31, 2013
