GENEVA MAY WALKER Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geneva May Walker (nee McLeod) on June 30, 2010; but also with profound joy knowing that she is in her new home in Heaven. Wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she touched very deeply all those who had the special privilege of knowing her. Born in Bounty, Saskatchewan, Geneva moved at two years of age to Pine Falls, Manitoba, a town which always remained very close to her heart. She later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met and married the love of her life, Tom. A devoted Christian wife and mother, her greatest joy was being with family, taking care of all those around her and lending a helping hand to those in need. Geneva was predeceased by her father Thomas McLeod, her mother Abigail (McPherson) McLeod, her sisters Grace, Eva, Mona, Isabel and brother-in-law Frank, her brothers, Gerald, Ken and Rorie and sister-in-law Lou. Left to honour and forever cherish her memory is her loving husband of 62 years, Tom, her children, Colleen, Beth (Barry), Tim (Lorene), Paul Stephen, Valerie (Adam), 13 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Geneva spent the last year of her life at Rosemary Heights Senior Village and treasured the friendships she made with both Residents and Staff. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff in the Hospice Unit at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock who offered wonderful care and compassion during this time. Memorial service and interment took place on Monday, July 5, 2010 in Surrey, BC. United in Love, reunited above -Your loving husband, Tom. See you in the morning Mom - Love your children.
