Date of Passing: Jul 15, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVES (YVON) SORIN Peacefully and surrounded by his family on July 15, 2010 at the age of 78, Yves Sorin started his wonderful journey with our Saviour. Dad leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 45 years, Marguerite (Moreau), his son Gilles (Cora), his daughter Yvette (Albert) Poirier, five grandchildren whom he cherished dearly, Jocelyn, Gregory, Alexandra, Katrina and Janelle. He also leaves to mourn his sisters and brothers, Florence Chartier, Sr. Lucille (f.d.l.c.), Jules (Laurette), Br. Paul (p.b.), Cécile (August) Flegel, and Joseph (Norma), as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Jean and Marie-Thérèse (Baudry), his parents-in-law, Ernest and Aurore (Barrette) Moreau, his brother Emile and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from both the Sorin and Moreau families. Dad was born and raised in Aubigny. In 1965, he married Marguerite Moreau and they settled on a farm in Ste-Agathe, where they lived until December 1997, at which time they moved to St-Norbert. Dad loved to play cards, especially cribbage, 500 and canasta. He also spent many hours making puzzles and watching a good baseball game or hockey game on the television ...cheering for the Expos and Canadiens of course. Dad had a very strong faith and was devoted to his family. We would like to offer sincere thank to all the home care attendants who provided wonderful care to Dad, as well as to Drs. Wong and Paul and to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital (Unit 4 South) for their amazing care and compassion during Dad's last days with us. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 19 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20 at the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, we would greatly appreciate for you to make a donation in memory of Yves Sorin, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. So long my dear husband, Dad and Grandpa. We'll see you again someday. We love you. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
