NICK CAPAR Peacefully, at his residence on Friday, July 16, 2010, Nick Capar, aged 75, late of Selkirk, and long time resident of Meleb. Left to mourn Nick's passing are brothers Steve, Bill (Irene), Harry (Diane); sisters Anne and Mary; sisters-in-law Jean and Olga, numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by parents Martha and Alex, brothers George, Peter and Mike. Nick was born in Meleb, Manitoba and grew up working on the family farm. Upon completion of his education, Nick worked a variety of different jobs throughout Canada and the U.S.A. His biggest endeavour was starting a paint manufacturing company (Capar Capar Paints) in the 1970s, which he proudly ran for many years. Nick cherished time with family and friends, and enjoyed a good discussion or joke. He was a very talented musician who enjoyed the opportunity to play the violin or cymbaly. Nick always encouraged his niece's and nephew's musical inclinations. In keeping with Nick's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12 at the Capar Homestead (1 1/4 miles west of Meleb on Capar Road). Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
