Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN WILLIAM CARRIERE It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of their cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle (mon oncle) Norm Carriere who passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Grace Hospital. It was only a brief time that Norman was away from his beloved wife Julie's side, who passed away only on July 1, 2010. Norm was predeceased by his loving wife Julie (nee Spence), his daughter Sandra Elizabeth in 1969, his parents Louis and Anne (nee Hawkins), sisters: Ella, Grace, Florence (Tom), Anne (Bill), brothers: Harold (Marie Louise), Bert, Charles (Rose), Wilfred (Jessie), Horace. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Norman (Szilvie), grandsons: Serge Norman (Julie Jeanne d'Arc), Adam Paul Samson (Carla), great-granddaughter Hazel Lillian Grace, sister-in-law Minnie, beloved spouse of Bert, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Dad was employed for 40 years with Molson Breweries. Norman grew up and received his education in St. Adolphe, Manitoba. He, as a young boy, befriended Sr. Marie Edithe who took him under her wing. She taught him the pleasure of gardening, which grew to be one of Norm's passions in life. Mom and dad enjoyed their cottage in Traverse Bay, touring, Red River Seniors Organization, and Bingo. A Celebration Mass will be held on Thursday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m., Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary's Road with Father Kevin Bettens officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the parish hall with interment at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Norm to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Christ the King Memorial Fund. The family is grateful for the care and compassion given by the Grace Hospital I.C.U. staff. We acknowledge Edna's assistance during this difficult time.
