As a child her family lived in the Cuauhtemoc area of Mexico for five years. The family moved back to Haskett, Manitoba where she and her 12 siblings lived in a three room house. As the eldest daughter, Tina had significant duties helping her parents with their large family. As a young woman, she worked in Manitou, Manitoba as a maid at the home of the publisher of the Western Canadian the local newspaper. During this time she met the love of her life, Jake Huebner. Jake and Tina were married on January 4, 1942. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Following 20 years of farming in Manitou the family moved to Winnipeg. There Katherine was kept busy caring for their home, sharing her love of sewing by teaching classes, crafts and gardening. She also enjoyed volunteering at Camp Arnes as the Craft Lady . Later she worked at Zellers till retirement. Tina was always concerned about the well-being of her sons and their families and prayed for the spiritual healing of all her children. I well remember fond memories of my "Aunt Tina", when our families used to get together to share life/farm stories and of course, "good old fashioned Mennonite food". May your heart be comforted by the fond memories you have of your Mother and by the Love that she left inside your hearts. "To everything there is a season and a time for every person under Heaven." I will share this with my Mother, Katherine Lepp of Kelowna, B.C. Warmest regards, Linda Lepp Derksen and Ed Derksen - Posted by: Linda K. Derksen (Family) on: Jul 20, 2010
