JULIA ROSEMARY JARECKI (SIWICKI) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Julie on July 8, 2010 at the Riverview Health Centre. She was born in Brooklands, Manitoba on January 4, 1922. Julie is survived by her three children, Cathy (Randy) Diduch, Michael (Joanne) Jarecki, Susan (Dan) Karashowsky; grandchildren Michelle, Mathew and Chris, great-grandchild Bradyn, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Julie was predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Siwicki, brother Tony, and sisters Jessie, Anne and Mary. Julie attended Brooklands School until the eighth grade then went on to work at the Ladies Kraft Sewing Factory and Burns Meat. In 1959 she married John Jarecki and after the children had grown, worked at the Taxation Centre until she retired. Julie enjoyed cooking, sewing and puttering in the yard. She would spend hours in the kitchen preparing delicious perogies, cabbage rolls and pies, and every Christmas she prepared a huge feast for all the relatives. Above all her favourite activity was spending time with her family. Julie loved travelling to Abbotsford to visit Cathy and Randy, and Brandon to see Dan and Susan. Mike and Joanne were always close, helping her get to where she needed to go, making sure she spent lots of time with her beloved grandchildren and enjoying time at the cabin. In 1994, Julie moved to the Kiwanis Apartments where she made lots of wonderful friends. She enjoyed the excursions with the block and tried never to miss a night of bingo. Julie will be remembered most for her smile, kindness and hard working spirit. No task was too big or too difficult to achieve. Her determination was immense and she never gave up. The funeral was held on July 12 at Cropo Funeral Chapel. The family would like to thank all the staff at Riverview Health Centre 3 West whose care and kindness will always be remembered. Donations in memory of Julie may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2P4. Always Remembered - Always Loved.
