Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJULIA SEDIK June 13, 1918 - July 17, 2010 A Celebration of Life On July 17, 2010, Julia departed her life on earth. Julia was born and raised in Selkirk, Manitoba. She was married to John Sedik for 58 years until his passing in 1999. Julia was well known for her volunteer work with the mentally challenged, something she totally enjoyed. She was also a member of Saint John's Ambulance from 1957 to 1983 for which she received a long service medal from the Governor General of Canada. She enjoyed her flower gardens both at home and at the cottage at Betula Lake. Julia also had a love of travel and John and Julia traveled to many places around the world. She will be remembered as a caring, compassionate human being; always placing others needs before her own. She tended to be a serious person, but would jump in mud puddles when she had the chance. Julia was predeceased by her parents Steve and Mary Pipko and her brother Walter. Left to mourn her passing are her daughters Kelly Fox of Kenora, Ontario and Pat Cortens of Quesnel, British Columbia; grandchildren D.J. Roberts (Mona), Lenore Lotecki, Toby Lotecki, Nancy Lotecki (Peter) and one great-grandchild, Chase. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Red River Place where Julia spent her remaining years. In lieu of flowers, donations to Red River Place would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. A private family inurnment will be held at St. Clement's Columbarium. JOINED THE VOLUNTEER ANGEL CORPS Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
