MARY JESSIE BARFIELD (nee MCCHEYNE) It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Mary, on Friday, July 16, 2010, at Seven Oaks General Hospital with her family by her side. Lovingly remembered, Mary will be greatly missed by her daughters Vickie (Bannister), Beverley, Shirley (Jerry) Flemming, Lynne, Dianne; granddaughter Sherry (Bob) Kolida; great-granddaughter Sydney; grandson Kerri; sister Peggy Merrick; brothers Bill (Bev), Jim (Marlyne), Dave (Helen) as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Walter (Bud) and brother Wally. Mary was born in Miniota, Manitoba. When Mom was young the family moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Bud and raised five daughters before entering the working world where she made many life long friends. Mom was a member of the Sons of Scotland and the A.N.A.F. Branch #1. She was an avid bowler and was tickled pink winning the Gold Medal in 5 Pin Bowling at the 1989 MSOS 55 Plus games. Mom was a dedicated Blue Bomber fan and held season tickets for over 30 years. Being an animal lover, Mom took in and kept many strays. She was a kind soul and always had a helping hand for those in need and felt there was no problem big or small that could not be resolved with a nice cup of tea . On Monday, July 26, 2010, Mary's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and eternal gratitude to Donnie and Libby for their loving care and compassion shown to Mom during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Toodle-Loo, Mom, We'll Miss You

I am fondly thinking of Mrs. Barfield. I am a former student of your late brother's daughter-in-law. Linda helped me deal with problems in the best way! - Posted by: Philip () on: Dec 13, 2021
