STANLEY THOMAS GORCIE February 8, 1929 - July 17, 2010 Saturday, July 17, Dad/Grandpa passed away peacefully with family by his side. Stanley Thomas Gorcie, at the age of 81 years, will be forever remembered by family and good friends for his sense of humor, joking good nature, and of course his desire to entertain everyone with his singing voice. In earlier years dad enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, and curling. He also possessed a talent and passion for oil painting. He had hand painted many a beautiful scenery on canvas. Dad was able to raise his family through the many years employed by the Carling Okeefe Breweries of Manitoba. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus East Kildonan chapter. Dad's memory will be held dearly in their own ways by his three children: Thomas James Gorcie (Tina), Tanice Ann Goodchild (Larry), and Glenda Marie Gustin (Darren), along with their mother Alice Martha Gorcie (nee:Kuyan). Grandpa leaves behind eight grandchildren. Where the miles may have separated, the heart remained true to all of them. Brent Thomas Gorcie (Emily), Toni Rae Gorcie, and PFC (Private First Class) Tyler James Gorcie; Ryan Stanley Goodchild, Clayton Fisher Goodchild, and Breanna Elizabeth Goodchild; Kyle Charles Gustin, and Kory James Gustin. Stanley also leaves behind brother Gerry Gorcie (Gloria), sister Margaret, cousin Lou Neiles, and Viola Gorchitza, together with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dad also leaves behind numerous friends and acquaintances from the seniors center he attended. He always spoke of the fun and laughs they had and we know that he will miss each of them dearly. Stanley was predeceased by his parents Emil Gorchitza and Elizabeth Alice Gorchitza (nee: Neiles), sister Shirley Hill (Victor), cousin Donald Gorchitza and brother-in-law Onasime Jim Beaudoin. He touched the lives of many, and held a special place in his heart for all of us. Dad/Grandpa was a private person that did not always share openly, but in a way unique to himself, held tremendous love deep within his heart. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to all members of dad's health care teams. Each and every one did a wonderful job caring for him in his time of need. For that we extend a big Thank You. A private family service will be held at the Green Acres Funeral Home. If so desired, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. Rest peacefully Dad/Grandpa. We love you dearly and will miss you just the same. Hakuna Matata from your angels. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Dad. Want you to know I think of you often and miss you and your sense of humor so much. This world could use one of your chuckles right about now.
