ALAN ROSS BAKE August 19, 1919 - July 11, 2010 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father Alan Bake during the early morning of July 11, 2010. Alan was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his parents, brother Leslie Bake, sister and brother-in-law, Vivienne and Bill McMahon and sister Doreen. Alan will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Betty Bake, his nieces, nephews and their families. Dad will forever be in the hearts of son Chester (Joyce), daughter Alana (Wayne), grandchildren Kelly and Kyle Antonchuk, Charlene (Ryan)Hartley and Trevor Bake. Dad was born in Preston England and came to Canada in 1928. He enlisted in the navy in Winnipeg as a seaman in 1940 and was drafted to Halifax in April of 1941. Dad served aboard the Stadacona and Iroquois and upon his discharge on November 26, 1945 he returned to Winnipeg. He continued his working career as a sales person in the food industry and later started his own catering business. In his spare time Dad enjoyed golf, hunting, camping, fishing and especially spending time with family. At Dad's request a private family service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mosaic Reception Lounge, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Reverend Paul Peter Gerry officiating.
