FREDRICK (FRED) WALTER BIRCHAM June 27, 1930 - July 11, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, friend, Fred Bircham at dusk on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital palliative care unit. Fred was predeceased by his parents Ivy and Fred Bircham and his sister Irene Beckthold (Bircham). He leaves to cherish his many memories his brother Gary (Helen) Bircham, his son Fred (Deborah) Bircham, his daughters Patricia Dandeneau and Lorraine (George) Wright and their mother Ingrid White; his grandchildren Denise (Jamus) Young, Brett (Rose) Bircham, Christine Mahoney, Brooke (Greg) Wyatt, Kevin (Christine) Wright, Leanne and Nicole Dandeneau; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Celina and Bradley Mahoney, Alexa Wright, Evie and Lila Wyatt; extended family Karen, Patrick, Hayley and Brenna Bassett, Gloria, Brent, Samantha and Tyler Jones; family friend Dennis Dandeneau and many cherished nieces and nephews. Fred was born and grew up in Winnipeg spending most of his retirement in Vancouver and Kelowna moving back to Winnipeg in 2008. Fred loved spending time with his cherished family doing his many favourite activities like golfing, fishing and going for coffee. The family would like to thank the very special staff in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital who supported Fred and his family through this difficult time and to Dr. Honiball for the care given to Dad during his illness. A Family Memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 11, 2010 at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fred may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
