Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN WOLOSHYN (nee KON) On Friday, July 23, 2010, Jean passed away at Rosewood Lodge at the age of 90. She is survived by her children Johnny (Margaret), Christine (Merv) Zolkewich, Virginia (Ray) Jackson, Irene (Larry) Sobkowich, Patsy (Richard) Chudyk, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, brothers Bill, Ted (Ann), Joe (Helen), Julie (Rene) Vermette and sister-in-law Helen Woloshyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, her parents John and Jessie Kon, her brothers John and Edward and sister Adeline Smith. Mom was born October 1, 1919 in Sweden. She came to Canada with her parents in January 1927 and lived in Winnipeg and Kilkenny until she married dad and together they farmed in Broad Valley area for 40 years. Before moving to Rosewood Lodge, she lived in Stony Mountain. She loved to sew, read and crocheted many pieces that will be treasured for generations to come. The family would like to thank all the homecare staff that helped her stay at her own place for so many years. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall for their tender loving care. As per mom's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall, MB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements, 204-467-2525.
