BARRY L. WORONCHAK, M.A. (Geography) 1951 - 2010 Barry was a first generation Ukrainian and the last of three generations, who settled in Winnipeg in the early 1900s. The only child of Natalie and Nicholas Woronchak, he believed in preserving his family's heritage and culture in his life and community. His career spanned the prairies before his return to Winnipeg. He taught at the University of Manitoba for numerous years. His life touched upon many, from all walks of life. Known for his acerbic wit, penetrating insights and total devotion to his friends, Barry was the prototype non-conformist and devout believer in numerous causes. He bowed to no barrier in the pursuit of truth and justice. Those who knew and loved him are especially blessed by his unlimited love and care. A memorial service will be held at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Ada St., on Friday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m. A memorial gathering shall follow in the church hall. A private interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, Barry asks that any donations be given to the Winnipeg Humane Society. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
