MARGARET MARTHA LUTZ It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret Lutz, on July 24, 2010, surrounded by the love of her family. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Edward (1980), daughters, Florence at infancy and Lois (2004), as well as her siblings, Angus, Ed, Fred, Ernie and Elsie. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her children: daughters, Beverley (Pete), Louise (Gary), son Lloyd (Dawn), and son-in-law Bill; grandchildren, Lisa (Mike), Mark, Cynthia, Melanie (Pat), Derek (Kari), Jennifer and Chris; and her great-grandchildren, Adam, Alex and Ryan. For Margaret, family always came first and now she will be missed in so many ways. Family gatherings of blueberry picking provided many fond memories for Margaret, of earlier times. In her younger years, she was an avid baseball player and curler and her love of these games continued. Her wonderful cooking of old family recipes handed down for generations, were enjoyed by all. Many warm memories included Margaret's baking of huge pans of pounchky (donuts), too delightful for words! She was also talented at crochet, knitting and cross-stitching. An avid reader as well, Margaret's magazine of choice was the Enquirer, which she believed to be the gospel truth! Doing crosswords, watching her favourite celebrity Larry King, or listening to her favourite country star, Kenny Rogers, kept her engaged right to the end. Our family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the Dialysis Unit and Palliative Care St. Boniface Hospital with special thanks to Louise, dear friend and nursing home caregiver, for the care and compassion extended to our mom. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. Interment to follow beside her husband Edward, at Green Acres Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be her beloved grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to The Salvation Army. Forever in our hearts ...
