PEARL MCINTYRE Our family is saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Pearl McIntyre on July 25, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Pearl was born on December 23, 1919 in Avonlea, SK and moved to Gunton, MB when she was very young and resided in Winnipeg until her death. She was predeceased by her husband Murnie McIntyre in December 1980 and her beloved son John and his wife Barbara in June 1984. Mom is survived by her daughters Darlene (Frank) and Penny/May (Brian). Also surviving are five grandchildren, Allan McIntyre, Susan McIntyre, Debbie Sullivan (Todd), Paul Hayes (Sherilee) and Kristen Hayes, three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Eliana and Macy, and former daughter-in-law Linda McIntyre who remained very close to mom. Also surviving are two sisters, Hazel Cosens and Edna Tarrant, and many nieces and nephews. Mom was a feisty lady with a unique sense of humour. She worked for many years at the Victoria General Hospital in the cafeteria and finally the linen room until her retirement. After her retirement she began to volunteer with Meals on Wheels and did so for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Fort Garry Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Her baking, especially her pies were always a hit at the Legion bake sales. Mom was an avid Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan and followed the team closely. She also loved the Winnipeg Jets and was sure they would one day return to Winnipeg. We would like to thank Gail Bedosky, Dr. Czernicki and Dr. Bruce MacLeod for the care they provided to mom over the last 13 months. Also we would like to thank Cathie Ritchie from Home Care and the Home Care workers who took such good care of mom and the staff at Deer Lodge who made mom's last days as peaceful as possible. A special thank you to Irene Agnew for being such a good friend and last but not least mom's niece Orla Orr. Orla, you are an angel in disguise and your help with mom over the last few years was invaluable. Due to the illness of mom's son-in-law Frank, a memorial service will be held in early September. Additional information will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice. Mom your strength and work ethics are instilled in your children and grandchildren and we would not have become the people we are today without your guidance and perseverance. Rest in peace, your work on earth is done, you will be missed and life will not be the same without you. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
