DAVID STANLEY LLOYD Peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer, Dave passed away at the Selkirk and District General Hospital on July 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife Joyce, his children, Kevin (Joanne), Yvette (Jody), Mark (Janice) and was the proud papa to his three grandchildren, Dylan, Shayne and Bryony. Dave was born August 4, 1930 in Middlesbrough, England. In 1969 he brought his family to Canada and worked at the Manitoba Rolling Mills in Selkirk until 1989. He was especially thankful that he got to share many good years of wisdom and humour with his children and grandchildren, being able to pass along his many skills he had learned along the way. He was a notorious organizer and lived his life by the five P's; PROPER PLANNING PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare, Selkirk and District General Hospital and the home care nurses for their caring and compassion. As per Dave's wishes he has been cremated with no funeral to follow. A private reception to celebrate Dave's life will be held at a later date. The family request that there be no flowers or cards. Dave loved dogs, a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society is the family's wish. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
