Date of Passing: Jul 12, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBORIS ALBERT REUTCKY June 18, 1939 - July 12, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Boris on July 12, 2010 in Comox, BC. He will be greatly missed by his wife Jeannette, daughter Karen Conicella (John), brother Terry and many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Canada. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret. Boris was born in Buchanan, SK. His birthplace would start his lifetime love of small Canadian towns. His childhood years were spent in Rama, SK. After marrying Jeannette they moved to Oakbank, MB where he took over the Red White Store from his father. From there the family moved to Hodgson, MB where he owned and operated The Royal Hotel. In 1972 the family was off to Winnipeg where Boris owned and operated The Savoy Hotel. While in Winnipeg Boris also spent many years in the automotive sales industry. His later years would bring him and Jeannette to Calgary and most recently to Courtenay, BC. Boris was extremely patriotic and loved everything about Canada. A Canadian flag would fly proudly all year round in his yard. He enjoyed: simplicity over extravagance, small town over big city, and Stompin Tom over Elvis. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
