FRANK SUDYKO 1925 - 2010 Peacefully on July 24, 2010 Frank aged 85 years passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Frank was born in Emerson Manitoba to parents Nicolas and Anna Sudyko. On June 3, 1941 at age 16 he enlisted in the Canadian Army. He proceeded overseas to France and Germany. In August of 1944, Frank was wounded in Normandy while serving with the C Company of the Calgary Highlanders. He was sent to England to recover from his injuries. In 1946 he arrived in Winnipeg. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the France Star, and the Germany Star. He was also awarded the Defense Medal, the Canadian Service Medal and Clasp, and the Victory Medal. In 1947 to 1948 he worked for the Brewery Products Company in Winnipeg as a delivery driver. In January of 1949 Frank worked for the C.N.R. as an Electrician. In 1956 he met his wife of 53 years, Alda Wayne from Kenora, Ontario. They raised two daughters and one son. In 1986 at the age of 61 Frank retired. He received the golden hand shake after 37 and one-half years of service. Frank was a member of the Fort Rouge Legion for over 50 years. His hobby was playing the ponies at Woodbine and later at Assiniboine Downs. Frank was predeceased by his parents Anna and Nicolas, his brothers Joseph and John, his sisters Mary, Verna and Anne. He leaves to mourn his sister Helen of St. Cloud, brother Glen (Esmé), his wife Alda, his daughters Cheryl (Steff) and Donna, son Robert and his two grandchildren Haley and Evan. Frank's wishes were to be cremated with no service. You will always be missed and remembered. Rest in peace Grandpa
