JAMES CANNON December 17, 1947 ~ July 30, 2010 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Jim Cannon on July 30, 2010. He will be forever missed and remembered by his wife Terry (Wright), son Jeff, daughter-in-law Joy (Bettess) and grandson Alexander. Also left to mourn his passing is brother John, brother-in-law Jim Bateman and extended family members. Jim was predeceased by his parents, John and Ella (Dunphy) Cannon and his sister Maureen Bateman. Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg. After high school, he attended the University of North Dakota where he obtained his teaching degree. After teaching physical education for 29 years, Jim retired June 2003. His retirement years have been about helping with their Bed and Breakfast, gardening and wintering in Mexico. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. with interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, care aides and other staff on 3East at Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
